Tool # 6

Wikis are a great tool to help a school enrich instruction, and increase communication and provide unlimited storage for digital materials including video, screencasts, presentations, pdfs, etc. Students can collaborate with a school across town or across the country to create any kind of a project. Students can create vocabulary lists and examples of the words in use; create digital interactive books and more. There is a website where we can create a digital picture book that we turn the pages. http://www.mixbook.com/

Tool # 5

I found this website with a large selection of web-based software as well as Windows educational software to download. http://www.educational-freeware.com/

I also found Teachers.Net that features over 4000 lesson plans and classroom ideas. We can browse lesson plans by category, grade level, or search by keyword.http://teachers.net/lessons/

I joined to del.icio.us application where I can use tags to organize and remember my bookmarks, which is a much more flexible system than folders. I can get to my bookmarks from anywhere, no matter whether I am at home, at work, in a library, or on a friend’s computer. I also can share my bookmarks publicly, so my friends, coworkers, and other people can view them for reference, amusement, collaboration, or anything else.

Tool # 4

Google docs will be an excellent tool to use with my kindergarten team. Instead of emailing around files, we can read and edit a document, edit a presentation or a spreadsheet. This is great tool to promote group collaboration such a collaborating prior to a field trip and get organized.

Google reader is another good tool to keep track of interesting stuff on the web. We can subscribe to any of our favorite websites and see what everyone is sharing.

Tool # 2

1. As educators this is a great way to keep current with the ever changing world of technology. This is an excellent tool to communicate and collaborate with peers across the hall and around the world to support our own professional learning goals.
2. Blogs are great tools to share our thoughts with others, and also to read, reflect or respond to the thoughts of fellow educators.
3. I commented in the following blogs:
Kindertech (Vanessa DeLeon)
Kinder in Technology (Rosa Mora)
11 Tools (Grace Wigington)
Teaching and Technology (Erik Zulaica)

I followed all the simple steps to create my Blog and it was really easy. Creating my own avatar was fun and I know my students will enjoy it too. This is totally new for me but I will find a way to integrate the new coming technologies into my teaching so I can help my students to extend their learning and empower their creativity. It is also a way to enhance my innovative skills as a teacher in designing lessons or creating new projects with my kids.
